10 Productivity Mobile Apps Every Business Owner Must Be Using
Productivity mobile apps are very useful tools for business owners these days. If you want to be productive and work without stress, you had better embrace mobile phone applications quickly.
As a business brand owner or a creative entrepreneur, you must know the various tech and productivity tools, especially the productivity mobile apps that will help you work smart, do less work and make more money in your business.
Otherwise, you’ll be spending a lot of money outsourcing content creation for your online channels to people who may or may not understand what your brand is about and who use these productivity mobile apps themselves.
I realized that I stare down at my phone so much these days, everything I need to create content for my business is all on my mobile phone.
My phone was stolen last year, (bless its soul), just a week before Christmas. It was after that tragic experience (LOL) that I realized how useful mobile apps had been and how extremely unappreciated they were.
By the time I got a low-budget phone, I had understood the value of mobile apps, and the low-budget mobile phone has bailed me out countless times thanks to these productivity mobile apps.
At times, when I’m in a public place or when I’m extremely busy that I can’t use my laptop, here are 10 productivity applications I use for my brand to get my creative juices flowing.

1. Google Podcasts
Google podcast contains different podcasts available on the web. You can play the latest episodes from your favourite shows, search for your favourite podcasters and even upload your own podcasts.
I think the best thing about this application is that you can listen to podcasts on the go because all episodes play automatically. Once you search for a podcast and start listening to the first episode, it automatically continues to play.
The podcasts episodes are in a reverse chronological order, which means that you have to scroll to the bottom to find previous episodes.
Listening to podcasts is good for you because it helps to relax your brain and helps you slow down the mental activities that are extremely stressful. The fact that they are conversations from people makes them preferable to me than audiobooks.
2. eBooks App
My favourite eBooks application is Bambooks. With just 900 naira per month, you can read books on the go, anytime you like. Another favourite of mine is Okadabooks, where you have to pay for each book you read.
eBooks are great and they are good for people who work mostly on their computer and are too busy to carry paperbacks about. I used to love paperbacks so much, but just like many other book lovers, audiobooks have found their way into my heart.
With Bambooks, I’ve read 28 books this year and it’s just the first half of the year. Out of the 28, only 6 of them are paperbacks. Talk about a giant leap.
3. AudioBooks
Audiobooks are one great mobile application that has wormed its way into my heart. My favourite on play store right now is Free Audio Books by Sanity audio apps.
I used to dislike it because you had to be connected to the internet to use it, but I have overlooked that issue now. Every audiobook is on a public domain which means that you can listen to it without spending any money.
How great is that? Audiobooks also help to improve your fluency in the language that you read and aids accurate pronunciation of words.
But there’s one teeny-tiny issue, my love for podcasts has overshadowed my love for audiobooks, plus I prefer to read books than to listen to them.
4. Flipboard
A friend of mine introduced me to Flipboard mid-2018, since then, it has been a sweet jolly ride. In fact, it has almost replaced Pinterest, but just almost. Flipboard is a news-reading app that contains curated stories from around the web.
You get to choose any number of niches you want to read about. I chose Entrepreneurship, Design and Writing which pretty much sums up my passion. I have been reading conspiracy theories on Zoom and Facebook for a while now. LOL.
From personalized news, entertainment, tech and sports articles to trending lifestyle magazines. You get great headlines from these topics and it saves your time because you can just move away from any headline that isn’t newsworthy.
5. English Dictionary
My favourite is the English Dictionary Offline. When I’m writing and I need to change my vocabulary, I quickly open up the app. Since it’s an offline app, you can use it anytime you like.
You can check for synonyms, etymology, translations in other languages, etc. Correct your vocabularies by using this tool.
6. PDF Viewer
The Adobe Acrobat Reader is a PDF viewer, editor and creator. Since most of the eBooks you download on the internet are PDF, it will be great to have a PDF viewer ready to view them.
It’s a must-have, you can view, edit, sign, and annotate PDF documents by working directly on the text. You can also easily fill out and sign PDF forms and other documents by typing text into fields.
7. Google Drive
Google Drive is a safe place for all your files, your pictures, documents, videos, etc. and are all within your reach. Whenever you put your document on the cloud, you can access them from any device wherever you are.
When I lost my phone in December, it wasn’t really difficult for me to access my files, as I’ve backed them all up to my drive, I just began to access them with my new low-budget mobile.
8. Sticky Notes
The Sticky notes app is amazing, you just have to open it, write out anything you want on it and stick to your main menu on your mobile. Just like how a sticky note is used in real life.
I came across this app when I was doing my final research for this blog post. So I downloaded it and tried it out, it’s fantastic. I don’t think I would be needing my journal for a while, LOL.
9. Grammarly
I first came across Grammarly in my early writing days, when I was researching how to create and write a blog. And ever since, I’ve been using it religiously.
The Grammarly keyboard helps to make sure that your writing is great, it checks your spellings for error, your sentence structure and the quality of your writing.
Grammarly is free and compatible with any device, so you have confidence as you create your social media posts.
10. Voice Notes
I got the idea to record my ideas using my phone’s voice notes from a blog I used to read 2 years ago. At that time, I used the sound recorder that came with my phone. But it’s not as sophisticated as Voice Notes.
With Voice Notes, you can keep recording your speech and convert to text. Note down and remind you later at the date/time you set. You can take notes or write your to-do lists just by speaking to your phone, great right?
