10 Things You Need On Your Work Desk To Increase Productivity

It’s no longer news that many companies are beginning to embrace remote working.
With Google at the forefront, giving its employees 1000 dollars each to set up their home office.
I would say this is the right time to start setting up the best home office for yourself.
In light of this, here are 10 items you need on your work desk to increase your productivity:
- Good office furniture: You need the best comfy chair and table. Make sure that they are strong and of good quality. Your chair should have a good backbone rest structure and your table should neither be too high nor too low.
- A Computer: It can either be a desktop or a laptop, whatever your preference is. Ensure that the glare is great enough for the eyes. Make sure that you use a mouse pad as well.
- Good Lighting: You need good lighting in your home office. Bad lighting strains your eyes, causing headaches and fatigue. You can also use a table lamp.
- A Planner: Having a planner on your table is really great because you can write out stuff as you remember them. You can plan for the next day and write your to-do list before the end of the day.
- A Pen and Paper: Most times, you might need to scribble a few things down, this is where your pen and paper will come in. Jot down phone numbers, ideas and things you are told on the phone.
- Good Quality Headphones: Listen to music on the go as you work. Music increases brain function, keeps you from boredom and sets you in the right mood. And good quality headphones help you shut out the noise.
- A Cup Of Coffee: And if you are not the coffee type, a cup of tea is good as well. This keeps your brain functioning, keeps you focused and alert at all times.
- A Bottle Of Water: You need to drink water regularly. You don’t want to get dehydrated often when you are working. So you need to constantly drink water. Having a bottle of water on your table helps keep you hydrated.
- Mints or Gum: You will be working for hours on end, make sure that you keep your breath fresh all the time. Chewing gums or taking mints at intervals will help keep with that.
- A Do-Not-Disturb Sign: Let’s face it, you are working from home and you’ll get distracted many times by your family. So a nice do-not-disturb sign hanging by your doorknob will keep family members away.
Happy working from home!
