Content Creation Will Help You Grow

Personally, I think it is important to have a personal brand.

A personal brand that is deliberately built will pay huge dividends in the end, in terms of business success, career growth, gaining name recognition, having a large audience, becoming more memorable and so on.

The good thing is, you can use content to build your personal brand. You see the content you create is an exposition of your knowledge and expertise.

It gives prospects an idea of what they’ll be getting should they choose to do business with you. The content that you share is an expression of who you are as an individual and as a business owner and people will be able to connect with you through your content.

If you put a lot of thought into your content and your content creation process, you’ll be able to create a trusting brand and then build authority in your field and also in the minds of your customers.

Just make sure that you use it to accentuate your message and use it to help your audience go from one stage to another.

So how can you build a strong personal brand through content?

Infuse Credibility into Your Content

One major trend I see on social media is people copying other thought-leaders in their niches. Look, it is pretty easy to copy what someone else is doing especially if this is someone you admire their work and you consume their content all the time.

Because you consume their content all the time, it is easy to get inspired by what they do. While I agree with getting inspired by another person’s body of work, where I draw the line is when you now begin to copy them.

You must understand that a 100% fake of someone else is zero percent of you. So you want to make sure that you are not copying their style, or showing up like them.

There won’t be originality in what you do anyway and trust me, people can smell BS from miles away. So you want to be original. The easiest way to do this is to share your message from the heart.

I’m a digital strategist and I train people a lot especially in terms of showing up on social media. One thing that comes up during training like this is how they usually don’t know what to write in their social media captions. So they just copy what their competitors are saying.

I then help them t realize that the one thing that paralyzes them is overthinking it. Perhaps you’re in that situation, what you should ask yourself is “what do I want to say about this content?”

That’s why it’s great to have a solid social media strategy. You can check how to create one here. With a solid social media strategy, you can reach your audience with your content and your captions.

Stay Consistent Always

When people talk about consistency, they only talk about it in the sense that you have to be showing up often. There are two parts to consistency and I’m going to be talking about this for a while.

The first meaning is showing up regularly. Consistency is key in the online space. Having a consistent schedule will allow your audience to know when and what type of content to expect from your brand, which is another way to help foster brand trust and brand recognition.

See if you are a YouTuber or a blogger, and you are not consistent, you will just be wasting time and resources. If you are not ready to be consistent on these platforms don’t even bother with content creation.

When you deliver quality content consistently, and your audience starts to expect and even rely on you to deliver regular content, your authority grows.

The second part of consistency has to do with how you present your content so that your audience will instantly recognize any content that comes from you.

For example, your social media creatives, your YouTube thumbnails, your intro videos, your blog formatting style and your video editing style. The slangs you use, your underlying messages, and your overall brand style.

All of these things have to be consistent and of very good quality.

Be Professional Always

Make sure that you are relating with your customers as professionally as you can. Focus on serving them, don’t focus on making a sale.

Always consider your customer’s point of view and never try to win an argument, you want to win a customer, not an argument so focus on that.

In the journey of life, people matter a lot. You need to always seek t put people first, and not just your customers, your employees/teammates, your partners, your suppliers and so on must all be treated well.

Treat your customers the way you want to be treated, that’s the golden rule of life. Keeping a touch of professionalism will do wonders for how others perceive your brand.

Also, if you want your business to grow, you need to avoid negativity, sarcasm, disrespectful languages and things like that that can hurt your brand. Avoid things that will come back and hurt your brand in the butt.

Have Clear Goals for Your Brand

Before you get started, you need to set clear goals for your brand. Think of how you want people to perceive you, think of what you want people to think, know and say about you.

Have a vision for your brand. What’s your vision? Do you want to be the go-to business success coach? Or do you want to create the best animation studio in the world?

Have that vision and begin to set clear goals on your path towards sustaining that vision. You want to make sure that every single piece of content that you create meets the requirement for that goal.

I shared a post on Instagram today and I spoke about how many clients wanted to grow on social media but did not have any clear goal for it. Without a solid social media plan for your business, you’d be struggling so hard without any return on your investment.

And you need to make sure that your social media goals align with your business goal.

Create High Quality Content

High quality content can promote your brand, taking you from level zero to level 100 within the twinkle of an eye. I mentioned before that you have to put a lot of thought into your content so that you can create a trusting brand.

Since the content that you share is an extension of your knowledge and who you are as a person, you need to make sure that you are creating content that is of exceptionally high quality.

I’m talking about putting a lot of research into any topic you want to share online. Make sure that it is well created and perfectly executed. You should also ensure that it delivers value to your audience, it educates, entertains or inspires them.

Final Words

Understand that a well thought-out content is a good way to build your reputation online.
